Black Friday Garden Deals 2026: How to Buy Smart This Year
We research products from manufacturer specs, independent tests and owner feedback; we have not tested them ourselves. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How we research.

The best Black Friday garden deals go to people who pick their model and target price before the sale starts. Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30, but sales run for weeks around those dates. Check each product's price history now, decide what you would happily pay, and buy only when a price beats that number.
Why now: the sales have not started yet, so this is the quiet window to research. Once the banners go up, every price looks like a bargain and it gets harder to think clearly. This guide sits within our seasonal deals calendar, which covers the other big sale windows of the gardening year.

Black Friday 2026 key dates
- Thursday, November 26: US Thanksgiving.
- Friday, November 27: Black Friday.
- Monday, November 30: Cyber Monday.
Treat these as the peak, not the whole event. When Which? studied the 2024 sale, it measured a four-week sales period from November 15 to December 12. Expect early offers in mid-November and some to run into December.
What a genuine deal looks like
The evidence says to be skeptical. Which? tracked 175 home, tech and health products from eight UK retailers for a full year around the 2024 sale. It found that 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the sales period, and none was at its cheapest price of the year on Black Friday itself. That study did not cover garden gear specifically, but the lesson carries over: a "deal" label proves nothing.
In the US, the FTC's Guides Against Deceptive Pricing set out what a fair "was" price means. A former price should be the actual, bona fide price at which the item was openly offered to the public, on a regular basis, for a reasonably substantial period. A big percentage off a price that existed for a few days is not a real saving.
Use these checks before you click buy:
- Look at the price history, not the strikethrough. Which? points to price trackers such as PriceRunner, and Consumer Reports has long advised checking comparison sites before the sale so you know whether a price is actually good.
- Set a target price now. Write down the lowest price you have seen in the last six months. Buy only at or below it.
- Match the exact model number. Kits differ by battery size and accessories. EGO sells the same 650 CFM blower as a bare tool (LB6500), with a 4.0Ah battery (LB6503) and with a 5.0Ah battery (LB6504). Compare like with like.
- Count the running costs. Smart feeders and indoor gardens can carry memberships, seed pods or plant food. Price the first year, not only the box.
- Remember that discounts happen at other times. Gardyn ran a $100-off code on its Home 4 in April 2026, according to Bob Vila. If a Black Friday offer is no better than a spring promo you already know about, you can wait.
Which garden categories to watch
The most useful targets are products that sell all year at a stable list price, because you can see whether the sale price is really lower. That points to cordless yard tools, smart irrigation, bird feeder cameras and indoor gardens.
Two big-ticket categories have their own guides. If you are weighing a robotic mower, read our Black Friday robot mower deals guide. For saunas and hot tubs see our Black Friday sauna and hot tub deals guide.
Garden models worth watching
Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller
The Rachio 3 replaces a standard sprinkler timer and comes in 4-, 8- and 16-zone versions. Rachio says Rain Skip pauses watering after recent or expected rain, and Seasonal Shift adjusts run times through the year. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and Rachio quotes an install time of about 30 minutes.
- Best for: anyone with an in-ground sprinkler system and a dumb timer.
- Main drawback: it needs the included AC adapter (DC transformers are not supported), and an outdoor install needs Rachio's separate weatherproof enclosure.
- Skip it if: you water by hose or drip kit without zone valves. There is nothing for it to control.
EGO POWER+ 650 CFM Blower (LB6504)
EGO lists 650 CFM (cubic feet per minute, about 18 cubic meters per minute) of airflow in turbo mode and air speed up to 180 mph (about 290 km/h) with the tapered nozzle. The LB6504 kit includes a 5.0Ah battery and charger. EGO gives a 5-year limited tool warranty and a 3-year limited battery warranty.
- Best for: clearing leaves on a suburban lot without a gas engine.
- Main drawback: EGO's own site shows all three kits as "Coming Soon," so you will be buying from a dealer or home-improvement retailer. Check the model number on every listing.
- Skip it if: you already own another brand's battery platform. A bare tool that runs on batteries you already own costs less than a new kit.
Birdbuddy Nook Solar
The Nook Solar is a smart bird feeder camera that takes 5MP photos with HDR (high dynamic range). It has a 3900 mAh battery charged by USB-C, and the included Solar Roof should keep it topped up in decent light. It is rated IP67 for weather resistance, holds 3.8 cups (0.9 liters) of seed and needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Birdbuddy listed it at around $159 on its own site in November 2026. Use that as your reference price.
- Best for: a gift for someone who already feeds birds.
- Main drawback: automatic visitor identification needs Family Premium, which Birdbuddy prices at $98.99 a year after a free month. Without it you get photos, video, livestream and manual ID.
- Skip it if: your feeder spot has weak 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Gardyn Home 4
The Gardyn Home 4 is a vertical hydroponic garden with 30 plant slots across 3 columns, a 5-gallon (19-liter) water tank and 2 LED light bars, each with a camera. It is for indoor use only. Bob Vila reports it grows up to 30 plants in about 2 square feet (0.19 square meters) and comes with a 30-day membership trial.
- Best for: fresh greens and herbs through winter in a bright or dark room.
- Main drawback: it is a premium product with ongoing pod and membership costs.
- Skip it if: you want a few herbs on a windowsill. A small countertop unit is a cheaper start.
When to buy: a simple plan
- Now to mid-November: pick one or two models, note the exact model numbers and record their current prices.
- Mid-November: watch for early offers. If one meets your target price, buy it. Waiting for Friday rarely pays, according to the Which? data.
- November 27 to 30: compare across retailers. Consumer Reports notes it is easier to comparison-shop online, and many retailers now charge the same price in store and online.
- Before you pay: read the return window and warranty terms, and keep your order confirmation.
- Into December: if nothing hit your target, keep tracking. Prices can stay low or fall again after the sale.

Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27, the day after US Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26). Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30. Many retailers run sales for several weeks around those dates.
Are Black Friday garden deals really the cheapest prices of the year?
Often not. Which? tracked 175 products around the 2024 sale and found 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the sales period, and none was at its lowest price of the year on Black Friday itself.
How can I tell if a Black Friday deal is genuine?
Check the product's price history before the sale and set a target price. Under the FTC's pricing guide, a 'was' price should be one the item was openly offered at for a reasonably substantial period. A discount from a price that barely existed is not a real saving.
Should I buy a garden subscription product on Black Friday?
Only if you have counted the running cost. Smart feeders and indoor gardens can carry optional memberships, so a lower hardware price does not tell you what the product costs over a year.
