About Plot & Season

Plot & Season answers two questions every gardener asks: what should I be doing in the garden this month, where I live, and which bigger project or purchase is actually worth it? Our calendars are organised by month and by climate zone, and our buying guides cover the projects that cost real money: saunas, hot tubs, greenhouses, solar, garden buildings and smart garden tech.

Who runs the site

Plot & Season is run by Petr Hess, founder and editor. Petr is not a certified horticulturist, electrician or engineer, and we never present him as one. His job is to research carefully, check claims against primary sources, and write clear, practical guides. Planting dates come from university extension services, the RHS and national weather data; product guides come from manufacturer documentation, independent tests and owner feedback.

We plan to add qualified reviewers for horticulture and for safety-related topics. When a page has been reviewed by a specialist, the reviewer's name and the review date will appear on that page.
