Editorial policy
This page explains how every article on Plot & Season is made.
Research first
- Every fact, date and specification is checked against a source we have opened: university extension services, the RHS, national weather services, manufacturer manuals and spec sheets, safety bodies and published independent tests.
- Sources are listed at the end of each article.
- Planting calendars start from average frost dates and are checked against regional extension or RHS guidance. Your garden's microclimate can shift dates by a week or more.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to have tested products we have not tested.
- We do not publish star ratings copied from retailers.
- We do not accept payment for placement, and advertisers do not see articles before publication.
- We do not give medical, electrical or legal advice. Where safety matters (stoves, electrics, cold-water immersion, permits), we point you to official guidance and licensed professionals.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and illustrations. Every article is checked against its sources and edited by Petr Hess before publication. AI-generated images are labelled.
Updates and corrections
Seasonal pages are reviewed before each season; buying guides are reviewed at least twice a year and whenever models change. Each page shows its last update date. Report errors via the contact page.
